Curriculum

We have adopted Common Core State Standards from the United States of America as an umbrella for our international curriculum. Our curriculum team adapted the standards, further developed and enhanced the framework to integrate our learners. Our curriculum is academically vigorous, culturally adapted, and embraces the different learning styles and paces of children. A dual-curriculum designed to provide a good foundation for our students to get the best education around the world, we add on Common-Core Standard English, Common-Core Standard Math, Common-Core Standard Social Studies and Common-Core Standard Science and Technology for our core subjects. 21st century education with an emphasis on the latest trends in technology, social economics, diverse cultural issues and globalization, the students are tailored for success in the global upcoming job market. Our Myanmar children will be provided with international education so close to home, being just in Myanmar. We envision our students to secure jobs in the future global market.

We are empowering children with a strong academic foundation that enables them to think critically, and plan strategically in the tough competition while not missing out on the childhood fun they deserve. Stardom, working hand in hand with Star Light Star Bright Schools, will bring in the best practices and pedagogy that are being taught currently in the best schools around the world.

While we have key learning areas for our children of different age groups, we are flexible with the topics of our curriculum. To enhance their learning experience, our learning materials and learning support kits are shipped mainly from the US, Europe and Singapore.

We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which originated in Italy. It is a well-known approach that is accepted world-wide as highly beneficial for children. We are very much honored to be a part of Reggio Emilia society by becoming a member of REACH (Reggio Emilia for Asia Children). We keep ourselves updated by attending conferences conducted by Reggio Emilia experts from Italy.

We understand the diversities in children and their learning styles differ from each other in four main categories which are partial visual, kinesthetic or movement, language-oriented, and logical while some may have a mixture. Our teachers are trained to recognize their differences and nurture their unique abilities. Our teachers pledge to exercise “Developmentally Appropriate Practices” in line with our approach to bring out the talents in each child. Our curriculum is designed to foster the children to become life-long learners, well-rounded and balanced with multiple talents to be regarded as highly-valued individuals in future.

STEAM and 21st century global education

Integrating science, technology, engineering, maths and even art altogether makes more sense and connection for elementary level students. Students will be given exposure to current trends, tools and cutting-edge technology, current issues in the digital world, science laboratory etc. We are also adapting to Red-Bird, a personalized online STEM software. Learning goals for IT are diverse in range inclusive of all perspectives and trends of the spectrum in Information and Technology of today. As educators around the world acknowledge the importance of integrating the subjects together, we are committed to educating our students to be current, problem solvers, and leaders with empathy.

The STEAM program offers a fully developed array of well-established, highly refined interdisciplinary projects and other standards-based learning activities for students that integrate inquiry-based learning, creative expression and problem solving, technology and engineering processes, and understanding of relevant societal realities. Each team also works on an interdisciplinary grade level project.

Care of School Enviroment

We are providing a neat and clean school for our children. We urge our parents and families to help keep our school environment in order to give our children a clean, conducive environment such as avoiding litter within or outside the campus. Together let us keep a sustainable environment.
